Teams of exactly 5 current students -- high school, middle school, or any level of college/university, including homeschooled and community-college students -- from anywhere in the world, plus one faculty advisor who is required to supervise the team but, per the rules, 'does not submit on students' behalf,' cannot create artwork or provide technical solutions, and may only guide 'through questions rather than direct answers.' Teams register online, then build a from-scratch 30-second animated film during a single 24-hour window on a theme revealed at kickoff. Winners are chosen by professional animators/industry judges on a published 40-point rubric (10 points each for storytelling, production quality, theme interpretation, and completion) -- not by random drawing.
